c. £50,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)

We’re supporting a long-established, well-respected independent firm of accountants in Northampton as they look to appoint an experienced Client Manager with a strong general practice background and audit exposure.
If you enjoy a mix of accounts, audit, and client advisory work and you like the idea of managing your own varied portfolio, this is a great opportunity to step into a role with real autonomy and visibility.
The Role
You’ll take responsibility for a mixed portfolio of SME clients, anything from groups of companies through to sole traders and owner-managed businesses. Day to day, you’ll be involved in:

Overseeing and reviewing accounts, audits, and tax work across your portfolio

Managing and developing junior team members

Leading client meetings and advising on a range of audit, accounting and business matters

Working closely with the Directors on planning, workflow, and service delivery

Supporting audits where required (audit experience is a key advantage)
This role is ideal either for a Senior ready to step into a fuller management position, or an existing Manager who wants a fresh, supportive environment.
What They’re Looking For

ACA or ACCA qualified

Strong all-round background from a UK accountancy practice

Audit experience as part of your career to date (essential for this role)

Comfortable managing your own portfolio and client relationships

Enjoy supporting, supervising, and developing junior staff
