Our client is a fast growing independent firm of accountants in Milton Keynes and has an opportunity for a highly experienced bookkeeper to join their rapidly expanding team.

Summary of Bookkeeper role
- Working with a varied client portfolio of SME’s and individuals you will have a high level of responsibility maintaining and building strong relationships with clients, which will require the ability to communicate confidently and effectively to Director level.
- You need to be tech-savvy with experience in using a range of accounting software but also be able to adapt to new software. You will be someone who enjoys the challenge of learning new software and then training clients to use it.
- You will be providing clients with the financial expertise and support to assist with their day-to-day accounting needs.
- You will be an experienced, highly motivated bookkeeper looking to drive your career forward with a proven background in bookkeeping and the ability to work with speed and accuracy to deadlines.
- The successful candidate will be given the support to develop skills and knowledge with the opportunity to study for nationally recognised qualifications if not possessed already.
Experience required for Bookkeeper role
- AAT or equivalent qualifications are an advantage but not essential if you have a proven bookkeeping track record.
- A strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- A good overall working knowledge of purchase ledger coding, reporting, month end journal posting, reconciliation and business and income tax worksheets will be advantageous.
- A fast learner, quick to understand new skills and technologies and with the ability to respond quickly and effectively is essential.
- You will already have experience in the use of cloud software such as Xero and experienced in using other software such as Excel
