Our client is an established firm of accountants planning for succession as a result of partner retirement. The firm has a varied client base consisting of sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and special clients such as solicitors and continues to plan for future growth. The ideal candidate will already possess a number of years experience gained within the profession and be particularly used to dealing with a diverse client base and managing a client portfolio in respect of accountancy and taxation matters.
Things to consider – important qualities to have for this level of role
- Are you a good people person?
- Do you have the ability to solve problems in a calm and effective way whether they are technical or people related issues?
- Do you have the experience and ability to develop client services? These days this requires the ability to network rather than just rely on current client contacts so you can assist in leading the firm in new directions.
- You won’t want the firm to stand still so do you have an interest or ability in marketing? You don’t need to know it all if you are new to being involved in the running of a firm, but you need to think about getting the coaching.
